Last year, Google announced integration with Uber to let users book a ride, get fare estimates and even pay without leaving the Google Maps app.
Now, Google has officially removed booking of Uber rides within Google Maps. The reason is still not clear and awaiting confirmation from the company.
It is speculated that Uber wanted its users to book their rides within Uber App itself and not directly from Google Maps.
But you can still check the route maps and get fare estimates on available Uber options, including POOL, uberX, and uberXL. To book the ride, you will be requested to open the Uber App.
Untill now, Uber was the only ride-sharing app that let users book rides within the Google Maps. This now brings Uber at par with other ride-sharing apps like Lyft and Ola, which were also never allowed to book their rides within the Google Maps.
The latest version of the app is free to download at our marketplace and can also be installed from Google Play Store using the given-below link.
