Leaving home! Alexa Guard is here to turn your Echo into a security device
Amazon is adding another functionality to its Echo products to secure your house when you are not at home. Guard function will listen to alarming signs like, breaking of glass or smoke alarm and send an audio alert to you or video if it is camera enabled. You then have to contact the security authorities as Alexa is lacking the functionality of contacting them now. To activate the Guard feature after the update, you have to open the Alexa app on your phone, go to Settings, tap on Guard and complete the Setup. Then each time you leave the house, use voice command, “Alexa, I’m leaving”. This feature is currently rolling in the U.S and soon will debut in other countries.
