Facebook is quickly becoming an indispensable component of business growth. It has
become an important platform for successful social media marketing over recent years, making it
a great option for all types of advertising.
Last year, Facebook placed static Messenger ads in the home screen of their Messenger mobile app.
Facebook in now beginning to add video ads in Messenger i.e you will soon see video ads playing next to your private messages.
According to a Facebook Messenger spokesperson,"We're in the beginning stages of expanding the availability of video ads to Messenger and we plan to roll this out gradually and thoughtfully. People on Messenger are our top priority and they will remain in control of their experience,"
Messenger ads are ads that appear on the home tab in Messenger. 1.3 billion people around the world spend time on Messenger interacting and conducting commerce with businesses and brands they love. With Messenger ads, they have an opportunity to discover experiences directly on their home tab.
Stefano Loukakos, head of Messenger Business for Facebook explained," Facebook is monitoring user behavior around the video ads to determine if they impact how people use Messenger, noting that Facebook hasn't seen any changes in how people used the platform or how many messages they sent since placing basic ads in Messenger."
But from a users point of view, it seems little intolerable when you are in the middle of a chat or perhaps in some serious chat and suddenly a video ad starts playing.
